This summer we reached out to our community to help us open a new classroom for two-year-old children. We know that families struggle the most to find places to take care of the youngest of children so we wanted to help them. The community support enabled us to purchase new furniture, learning activities, books, and supplies for the classroom. We promoted one of our own to the new teaching position and the Llama class became a reality when we opened school in September. Now you find our children engaged in the activities Ms. Dixon creates using the Creative Curriculum. The learning activities prepare the children for early literacy and math and support social-emotional learning. Children have been seen engaging in occupational play, sensory experiences, science activities, and literacy activities, just to name a few. This new classroom will ensure another group of children will be ready for school while providing them a safe and caring environment at an affordable cost for their families.
